OPIS Launch Daily Renewable Diesel Price Assessments in Pacific Northwest

OPIS Launch Daily Renewable Diesel Price Assessments in Pacific Northwest

[Rockville, Md – October 1, 2025] — OPIS will begin publishing daily renewable diesel price assessments for the Pacific Northwest, expanding its industry-standard West Coast benchmark with enhanced renewables coverage to reflect growing demand for low-carbon fuels in Oregon and Washington.

The new assessments will include:

  • 100% Renewable Diesel Assessments for Portland and Seattle, incorporating Oregon Clean Fuels Program and Washington Clean Fuel Standard credit incentives along with 1.7 D4 biomass-based diesel Renewable Identification Number (RIN) credits.
  • 99% Renewable Diesel Assessments for Portland and Seattle, excluding incentive values. These 99% renewable diesel assessments will also appear in the OPIS West Coast Report and on the OPIS Spot Ticker, in addition to being featured in OPIS Biofuels Daily.

All four assessments will be priced as differentials to OPIS’s existing Pacific Northwest diesel market coverage and NYMEX ULSD futures. A baseline proxy carbon intensity score of 37.93 gCO2e/MJ will be applied, and OPIS will also publish calculated carbon intensity assessments to enable producers and blenders to align pricing with the specific CI of their fuel.

Demand for renewable diesel in the Pacific Northwest continues to accelerate, driven by Oregon’s Clean Fuels Program, Washington’s Clean Fuel Standard, and the City of Portland’s renewable diesel blending mandate, which will rise from 15% to 50% in 2026.
