Monjasa Bunker Vessel Returns to Offshore GOM Service Following Drydocking

Denmark-based bunker supplier Monjasa completed drydocking operations of its bunker tanker Monjasa Thunder and is returning it to full operations in the offshore Gulf of Mexico, the company told OPIS Tuesday.

The 19,991-Dwt vessel, the largest tanker in the offshore U.S. Gulf bunker market, was completed in collaboration with Monjasa sister company Montec at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport.

The scheduled drydocking included main engine and auxiliary engine overhauls, propeller blades maintenance, full recoating of hull and painting according to the Monjasa fleet design, the company said.

Built in 2009, Monjasa Thunder previously operated off West Africa before moving to Panama. It has been serving the offshore U.S. Gulf bunker market since late 2024, replacing MT Stenheim, and has completed 272 bunker deliveries since entering the region.
