PNW Gasoline Prices Fall After Olympic Pipeline Operations Fully Restored
Pacific Northwest sub-octane regular and premium grade spot market implied prices fell by double digits on lower offers Monday following restoration of operations along the Olympic Pipeline’s 16-inch and 20-inch lines.
A leak along the Olympic Pipeline was reported Nov. 11 following the discovery of a sheen in a drainage ditch near an agricultural field roughly 25 miles north of Seattle.
The system’s 16-inch pipeline was partially restarted early Nov. 16 and fuel deliveries, including jet fuel to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, resumed. On Nov. 17, the 16-inch line was shut down again to investigate “an increase in product observed in a collection point” at the response site, OPIS previously reported.
The 16-inch pipeline remained shut through Tuesday, OPIS previously reported. The 20-inch line was restarted Saturday, according to a BP statement.
